Day 2

Explore Valladolid and Mayan Ruins

Explore Valladolid and Mayan Ruins

Afer breakfast, you will departure to Valladolid, a typical colonial city of Yucatan. You will visit the colonial city center with the white cathedral, the local market and the famous convent of San Bernardino. Next, you will explore the Mayan ruins of Ek Balam, whose meaning in Maya is "Black Jaguar". If there is time, you will stop at a cenote called X’Canche. In the afternoon, you will come back to Valladolid and check in at your hotel.

Later that day, you will go to Izamal, a colonial city known for its charming convent and its streets are all painted yellow. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Merida, the famous White City, named for its white and colonial buildings.

You will go to San Antonio de Mulix to have a refreshing bath in one of the many cenotes of the area and where you can meet some indigenous community of Yucatan. In the afternoon, you will visit Uxmal, one the most important Mayan ruins hidden in the jungle. Later you will arrive in Campeche, a lovely city still closed and fortified with towers and walls, which is full of colonial architecture.
