Beginning in Lima, you'll explore the city before heading to Lake Titicaca, the largest navigable lake in the world, visiting the famous floating islands whilst you're there.

Travelling to Cusco by bus from Puno, you'll take in the glorious Andean landscapes and pass over the highest point on the road between the two. After exploring the key sights of Cusco and the Sacred Valley, you'll lay eyes on the gem of Peru, Machu Picchu.

Today, you'll arrive in Lima, the capital of Peru, which sits on the country's arid Pacific coast. Founded in 1535, its colonial centre is well preserved, but today Lima is a bustling metropolis and one of South America’s largest cities. Lima is known as the “gastronomical capital of the Americas”, encompassing specialities from ceviche and traditional coastal cooking to refined global fare. Your driver will pick you up from the airport and you'll have the rest of the day free to explore.

This morning, you'll travel from Lima to Puno by plane. On the way to your hotel in Puno, you will stop to visit Sillustani to see tombs built from volcanic stone. Fringing the shore of Peru’s Lake Titicaca, Sillustani is a pre-Incan cemetery full of huge tombs and fascinating ruins. This is an awe-inspiring necropolis is home to above-ground tombs built in tower-like structures known as chullpas. Afterwards, you'll continue to your hotel in Puno. You'll then have the rest of the evening free.

Today, you'll leave Puno behind for an incredible day of exploring Lake Titicaca and its surrounding communities. You'll skip the crowds and discover the hidden marvels of Lake Titicaca with this authentic cultural experience. You'll explore a secluded section of Taquile Island, experience the preparation of "Pachamanca", and visit Uros floating islands. You'll also enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch, prepared in underground ovens. You'll return to Puno around 4.30pm.

Continue sightseeing in Peru by traveling from Puno to Cusco via tourist bus. You'll enjoy the gorgeous landscapes along the way on this 10-hour bus ride. This service includes buffet lunch in Sicuani and stops at the Pukara Museum, La Raya Pass (the highest point on the road between Cusco and Puno), Raqchi and the small town of Andahuaylilas. You'll arrive in Cusco in the early evening with time to relax after the journey.

Today, you'll explore Cusco, the heart of the Inca Empire. In a half-day tour, you'll visit Qorikanchathe, famous 12-Angled Stone, Cusco Cathedral, the archaeological marvel of Sacsayhuaman, the Koricancha temple, the red fortress of Puca Pucara and many other surrounding sites. This will be an action-packed day to fit in all the exciting sights to see in Cusco. If you prefer, you can also begin this tour in the afternoon at 1.30pm to free up your morning to do whatever you wish.

Explore the Sacred Valley

Today, you'll enjoy a full day of exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll begin the day by hiking to the Pisac Ruins, perched atop a mountain overlooking the valley and Pisac town below. Then, you'll visit the town of Pisac and the famous Pisac Market. After a delicious buffet lunch, you'll continue to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, a precious gem of an archaeological site which is known to few tourists. The tour ends with a train ride to Machu Picchu where you'll be overnighting.

Today will be dedicated to exploring one of the new 'Seven Wonders of the World' in a half-day tour. You will be astonished at your first view of Machu Picchu, a stunning display of ancient architecture with incredible surroundings. You'll enjoy a guided tour of the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Cemeteries. You'll then return to Ollantaytambo by train and take a transfer to your Cusco hotel.
