Day 2

Travel to Chefchaouen via Rabat

In the morning, you will start your trip at the biggest mosque in Casablanca, Hassan II Mosque. Then you will go to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. We will start with the Bab Challah, the Mausoleum
of Mohammed V, the main gates of the Royal Palace and the Oudaya Kasbah. Then we drive straight to the blue city, Chefchaouen. We arrive a bit early to have time to walk inside the blue alleys of the medina, take pictures and experience the local food of this little city.

Today in Chefchaouen have free time all morning to explore the blue city. Nestled in the Rif Mountains, north-west of Morocco, it is famous for the remarkable buildings with different tones of faded blue. Leather and weaving workshops line its steep cobbled alleys. In the afternoon, leave the blue behind and head to Fes, another old capital and the first of the imperial cities of Morocco.

After breakfast in your riad, you start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its endless alleys
and small streets starting at the Royal Palace gate, and the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco. Visit all of the cultural and historical sites in Fes including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest one in the world and the famous tanneries. After lunch, you will visit a local tile cooperative (Art D'Argile ) and a viewpoint that will show you the whole medina.

A Full-Day Journey to Merzouga

After breakfast, you will leave Fes travelling towards Merzouga. On this journey, you’ll catch glimpses of the Mid-Atlas and High Atlas mountains and stop at Azrou and Midelt for lunch. Travel through the spectacular Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau and see how the landscape changes as we edge closer to the desert. Arriving in Merzouga, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea. Then take a camel ride on the dunes of Sahara Desert to reach your luxury camp.

Your guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what will may be the best sunrise of
your life. You’ll camel-trek back to Merzouga. Enroute, appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and a hot shower in the riad, you’ll leave for the Todgha gorges. After lunch, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as Monkey Toes.

Dades to Marrakesh via Ouarzazate

Travel through the Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate and on to Marrakesh on 'the way of the thousand Kasbahs'. You will stop at Kalaat M’Gouna; the rose valley, where you can visit a cooperative to buy rosewater. Continue to Ait Benhaddou, built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains in the 19th century. Continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where you have the opportunity to learn about the Argan oil from Berber women in their cooperative before arriving in Marrakesh.

After breakfast in the riad, you can start your Marrakesh tour; the Red City of Morocco. We will
ensure that you see the most important historical and cultural sites, including the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and see the hundreds of handicrafts that are for sale. In the afternoon, you have some free time to wander by yourself to explore the other parts of the city.
