Delhi is the capital city of India and it gives a taste of the rich culture and history that defines this country. Day 2

Delhi Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, you will go out sightseeing. Begin with Old Delhi, where you will visit the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; Chandni Chowk, the oldest markets in Delhi. Take a rickshaw ride to the Red Fort, from here you will go to Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Have lunch and then go to New Delhi to visit Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, the President’s House and Parliament Street. Lastly, visit Qutub Minar, a 240-feet tall minaret with an amazing mix of architecture.

Delhi to Agra

After breakfast, drive to Agra. This city is special because it is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort. Check into the hotel and go sightseeing, starting with the Agra Fort, which is a much better-preserved version of the Red Fort in Delhi; made of red sandstone and white marble. Then visit Taj Mahal at sunset, the best time to witness this magnificent monument. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his loving wife, Mumtaz.

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. The city got its name and reputation of being the pink city due to the use of pink sandstone in almost all the buildings we see today. The bustling bazaars of Jaipur, famous for Rajasthani jewellery, fabrics and shoes, possess a timeless quality and are a treasure-trove for the shoppers. On arrival, check into the hotel.

A Day in Jaipur

After breakfast, take a jeep up to Amer Fort. Built in the 16th century, Amer Fort sit on the Aravalli Hills which bears importance to Indian history. Later, visit the City Palace where the Maharajah resides. Then, visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory, the largest stone observatory in the world. Finish the day driving past the Hawa Mahal to the colourful markets of Jaipur, bapu bazaar. Women will get an opportunity to drape in a saree and men will experience traditional turban tieing.

Visit the Golden Temple, known as Sri Harmandir Sahib. It is one of the most spiritual places in the country and considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Sikhism. Visit the Jallianwala Bagh, which is a public garden located near the Golden Temple. It is home to a memorial that pays tribute to the massacre by the British forces. Visit the Wagah Border, to witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony that takes place every day just before sunset.
