Day 2

Kampala to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast you will depart from Kampala at about 8:00am and head west via Fort Portal to Kibale National Park, with an en route stop for lunch. The town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. Continue to the park and check in late afternoon at Primate Lodge. Enjoy your evening relaxing under the stars in the national park.

Kibale Forest is reputable for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Trek through the rain forest in search of the chimpanzee and many others. Return for a hearty lunch and we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for a slightly different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and plants.

Day 4

Have a relaxing breakfast in the park then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Par. En route you will enjoy the outstanding nature wonder and scenic beauty of the crater lakes. Along the way you will be able to stop for some photos. Then arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park late afternoon, check in at Mweya Safari Lodge. Once settled, relax and enjoy the sunset from the lodge, take in the views and rest up in preparation for the day ahead.

Early coffees then begin your game drive. In the mating grounds of the Ugandan kob, we may be lucky to spot some lions and leopards hunting. Look out for elephants and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Return for a late breakfast, then relax at the lodge. Take an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where we find the highest concentration of hippos in East Africa.

Day 6

Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast early, then head for another Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge is famous for its beautiful view and wild Chimpanzees roaming around the tropical rain forest. In the afternoon we leave for Bwindi with a lunch stop en-route. We will arrive at the home of the endangered mountain gorillas early evening. Then, it's time to relax with the sounds of nature around you.

Early breakfast, and ready with packed lunches, you will be briefed about the trek. This is the highlight of your luxury Uganda safari! Today you will meet with the gentle giants; the mountain gorilla. Expect to walk a long distance in difficult conditions through the deep rain forest. The trek is worth while, as you will be generously rewarded with the once in a lifetime experience of seeing the endangered mountain gorillas. Get up close while they feed, play and relax.

Return to Kampala

Early breakfast then set off back to Kampala. This drive is long indeed (over 8 hours) but you are rewarded with stunning views of winding roads and hills. You will stop for lunch, and at various sites like the Uganda Equator or the drum center. As an alternative option, you could also charter a 1-hour flight directly from Bwindi to Entebbe.

The airport transfer of today will be given to you by our friendly drivers at the time of your flight. If your flight is later afternoon or night, then we shall also offer a city tour around Kampala’s famous and historical sites. Alternatively, you can shop around for souvenirs. When you are ready, you will be dropped off at the airport in time for your flight.
