Over nine days, you'll explore three of Brazil's most-loved destinations: Paraty, Rio de Janeiro and Alta Floresta!

Begin with a Paraty tour in the quaint bay and spend your first few days exploring this wonderful area by boat, hiking to hidden beaches, tasting the national spirit of Brazil, cooking up a storm and visiting local villages.

You'll make your way to Rio de Janeiro where the next few days will be filled with bucket-list-tickers, hikes thought the Tijuca National Park and a visit to the favelas of Rio.

Moving on from Rio, you'll head deep into the Amazon to Alta Floresta, where you'll spend three days at a rainforest lodge filling your time with adventurous hikes and animal spotting!

Today, you'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro airport and transfer to Paraty. After you've checked in at the hotel, you'll head out on a walking tour in the Paraty Historical Centre escorted by your local guide. Later, at the Cooking School of Paraty, you will enjoy a different dinner. The demonstrations are carried out by international chef Iara Roberts, in her kitchen. It presents a unique proposal of Brazilian cuisine, with dishes from Amazonas, Bahia and Minas Gerais, among others.

Today, you'll take a regional vessel to explore Paraty's bay. You'll have a quick beach stop and enjoy lunch on Catimbau Island, a very small rocky island and a popular stopping off point for meals and snacks whilst in the bay of Paraty. In the afternoon, you'll continue by boat to taste the most popular distilled alcoholic beverage in Brazil called Cachaça at Cachaçaria Maria Izabel, one of the most famous breweries of its kind in Brazil. In the afternoon, you'll return to Paraty.

Day 3

Today, after breakfast you'll take a short transfer to the starting point of the Praia do Sono trail through the Nature Reserve of Cairuçu. The walk takes 1.5 hours and starts with a short incline through the lush forest where you can admire different types of vegetation and birds. You'll stop to refresh yourself in a beautiful waterfall before you reach Praia do Sono, one of the best beaches in Paraty. You'll visit the fishing village of Ponta Negra before returning to Paraty.

After breakfast, check-out and transfer. Transfer to Rio de Janeiro. Check-in at the Hotel. Free for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Traveling up Sugar Loaf Mountain on a cable car, you'll make a brief stop at a vantage point at approximately 700 feet (215 meters) above sea level. Capture unparalleled panoramic views of the city, Guanabara Bay, the Rio-Niteroi Bridge and Corcovado. Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, you'll hike the trails of the Tijuca National Park and visit the Corcovado and the Santa Tereza district. This park is known as the largest urban forest on earth. You'll make a quick stop to visit Christ the Redeemer before visiting Santa Tereza district to visit the Morrinho Project. Then, you'll go on to tour Rio's major landmarks and neighbourhoods: the Municipal Theater, the National Library, the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Lapa Arches.

Day 6

Rio de Janeiro to Alta Floresta

After breakfast, you'll check-out and transfer to the airport. There, you'll catch a flight to Alta Floresta. Upon arrival in Alta Floresta, you'll be picked up and transferred to Cristalino Jungle Lodge (a 1.5-hour car journey and a 30-minute boat ride away). Upon arrival, there will be an introduction to the lodge and to the accommodation and then you will have the evening to relax before you Amazon activities begin!

Today, you'll enjoy your first full day in the Amazon hiking various trails from the Cristalino Lodge. In the morning, you'll hike towards the 50-metre Canopy Tower where you will be able to see the forest from above the canopy. Monkeys, macaws and several species of birds can be found here. Then, you'll walk the Ficus Trail, where a giant Ficus Tree is found. In the afternoon, you'll walk the Taboca Trail in an area with seasonally flooded forest, where many monkeys can be found.

In the morning, you'll hike towards the Saleiro House - a rustic treehouse located in the middle of the forest reserve. The soil here is naturally rich in minerals and is often visited by large forest mammals. In the afternoon, you'll take a boat trip upriver and hike the remarkable Brazil Nut Trail in a region with enormous Brazil Nut Trees. On the way back, it is possible to canoe or boat ride, watching the afternoon activity as you go downriver.

This morning, you can take a light hike on the Tapiri Trail, where the White-whiskered-spider-monkey (Atelis marginatus), a symbol of the Cristalino State Park, can be seen. When you'll ready, you'll be transferred to Alta Floresta Airport for your onward flight or journey.
