Würzburg is known for its Baroque and Rococo style buildings! With its numerous wine taverns, wine cellars and wineries Würzburg is the heart of the Franconian wine region.

During the tour, you will visit the stunning towns of Bad Mergentheim, Weikersheim and Creglingen to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the most famous and most beautiful towns in Germany.

You will drive via Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen to Augsburg. All three towns are unique: With its stately church buildings, magnificent merchant houses and rich half-timbered architecture, Dinkelsbühl is one of the best-preserved late medieval towns in Germany. Nördlingen is the only city in Germany with a completely preserved and all-around walkable city wall.

During your final stop, you will learn about Munich's colourful history and culture!

You will arrive at Frankfurt Airport and take a drive to Würzburg. Würzburg is known for its Baroque and Rococo style buildings, especially for the 18th-century Residence, with magnificent rooms, a large fresco by the Venetian artist Tiepolo and a richly decorated staircase, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981. With its numerous wine taverns, wine cellars and wineries Würzburg is the heart of the Franconian wine region and shows the best side of romantic Germany. You will spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Today is fully dedicated to beautiful Würzburg, a picture-perfect town showing the best of romantic Germany. In the morning, you will enjoy a guided stroll through the old town, leading to numerous sights: you can start with the stunning view from the Alte Mainbrücke to the fortress, to the famous “Käppele” and the surrounding vineyards and move on to the Gothic Marienkapelle with the sandstone figures of Tilman Riemenschneider, the Falkenhaus with its magnificent rococo facade, the historic town hall, the Romanesque Kilian's Cathedral or the Neumünster with the Lusam garden. Afterwards, you will enjoy a guided visit of the famous Würzburg Residence.

After breakfast, you will continue your journey along the Romantic Road, via the stunning towns of Bad Mergentheim, Weikersheim and Creglingen to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the most famous and most beautiful towns in Germany. You can look forward to a very special tour in the evening: accompany the Rothenburg Night Watchman on his entertaining and informative rounds through the darkness. You will follow him through dark alleyways and across dimly lit squares and enjoy the special mood of the town at night. Listen to his stories and find out how the people lived in the Middle Ages – a wonderful finale for your evening in Rothenburg.

You should take your time in the morning to explore more of Rothenburg. After lunch, you will drive via Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen to Augsburg. The day starts with a guided city tour of Augsburg. In the old town, you will see buildings of different style periods, such as medieval guild houses, the Cathedral of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary from the 11th century or the Basilica of St. Ulrich and Afra with its onion tower. You should look forward to learning more about the Augsburg City Hall with its Golden Hall, which dates back from the Renaissance. The Fugger Houses, which served as the residence of the wealthy Fugger merchant family, and the Fuggerei, a social settlement dating from the 16th century. You can spend the rest of your day at leisure.

In the morning, you will start onward journey to Füssen, known as the romantic soul of Bavaria. Situated directly at the foot of Neuschwanstein Castle at an altitude of 800 - 1200 meters, Füssen is also Bavaria’s highest town. Its late medieval town centre with the High Castle and the St. Mang Monastery houses numerous art treasures and architectural monuments from the almost 2000-year history. You can enjoy the region’s stunning landscape in the afternoon during light guided hiking tour to the world-famous castles of Neuschwanstein. You will also visit the inside and Hohenschwangau. Please make sure to have solid shoes for this trip!

The morning is free to explore the stunning region on your own. In the early afternoon, you will depart for Munich. The King wanted to turn Munich into “a town which does such credit to Germany that no man can say he knows Europe unless he has seen Munich”. To make this dream come true King Ludwig II, as well as his predecessors and his successors, were all gripped by a passion to build. They all created monumental buildings, magnificent squares and boulevards, and so created one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. For the remainder of the day, you can spend at leisure exploring Munich on your own.
