9-Day Wildebeest Migration Luxury Safari

Today, on day one of your luxury safari, your day starts with an early wake-up call for an early morning breakfast. You will then travel by vehicle through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti entrance: Nabi Gate. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch en route as you travel through the plains to your luxury safari lodge. If you are interested, with extra cost, you can fly direct to Serengeti and avoid the road trip.

After your camp breakfast comes the potential highlight of your stay, as you spend an entire day exploring the Serengeti National Park. In addition to being the home of the Great Migration, you should be on the lookout for big cats such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax and African hares, together with more than 500 species of birds, also inhabit this park.

Today, you will experience the wildlife of Serengeti National Park in a new, unique way. You'll wake up early to catch the sunrise, as you silently fly over the plain of Serengeti National Park. This hot air balloon experience will be one you won't soon forget. You'll then spend the rest of the day enjoying a game drive through the national park before returning to your lodge for dinner.

On this incredible day, you will be driven across remote locations within the vast Serengeti plains in pursuit of the Great Migration. The areas you visit depending on the time of the year and could be as far as the remote North of the Serengeti near the border with Kenya, or in the South (Ndutu Area) or even in the Western part of the park.

Today, you'll merge with nature and wildlife and watch this truly spectacular event - The Great Wildebeest Migration. This annual migration across Northern Tanzania and Kenya is a truly spectacular event. Every year over a million wildebeest, zebra and antelope migrate around the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem making time for birthing, courting and mating on the way.

The stirring sounds of Africa will rouse you from your sleep this morning. Then, you'll make the most of your luxury safari with an 8 o'clock start, heading for your morning game drive section. Later in the afternoon, the adventure will continue when you travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the place that you'll be staying in and exploring for the night.

At sunrise, you'll descend 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhino. In the afternoon, you'll say goodbye to your safari experience as you head back to Arusha for your final night in Tanzania.
