8-Day Cycling in the Rural Mekong Delta

Today, you will be picked up by your guide at 7.30 am and taken on an hour and a half drive to out of the city to visit the Cai Be floating market. Stopping in riverside villages along the way, you'll then take a short walk around to see how locals produce coconuts foods. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a bike ride around Cai Be and along the system of the Upper Mekong River. You'll cycle a distance of around 25 kilometres with medium difficulty.

Today, you will pass the Rach Mieu Bridge and keep cycling on country roads towards Que Son. You'll eventually arrive in Ben Tre and take a boat trip around the village. In the afternoon, you will drive over the Ham Luong River and then continue cycling to Tra Vinh where you will stay overnight. You'll have time to explore the quaint, rural town that has a very relaxed way of living. The total distance of cycling throughout the day will be 65 kilometres and medium difficulty.

Your first destination today is Tieu Can, where you will discover the beautiful Theravada Pagodas and encounter the Khmer monks. A short cycle ride later, you will visit the fascinating Ang Pagoda. From there, you will cycle about 32 kilometres to Cau Ke and continue your cycle another 21 kilometres to Tra On. Finally, you will take the ferry to Can Tho, where you can explore another quaint town that lives life along the banks of the river.

You'll enjoy breakfast in your luxurious hotel along the banks of the river. You've got the rest of the day free for relaxing, swimming in the hotel or shopping in the town centre. Should you wish to arrange other activities, this can be arranged by your local guide. After breakfast at the hotel, lunch and dinner will be at your own arrangement for more flexibility.

Continue your Mekong Delta cycling tour today. Early morning you'll ride on a narrow paved road via Cai Rang floating market. Weave through the morning traders and pedal along the banks of the very busy river. Taking in another market, you'll continue on to Phong Dien village. Then there will be about a 30-minute transfer to the town of Long Xuyen where you can relax for the evening. Today, you'll cover a total distance of 95 kilometres or there is the option to do only 65 kilometres.

After a short early morning drive to Tri Ton, you will start cycling towards Chau Doc through winding roads that cut through the beautiful countryside. In the afternoon, you'll cycle to the killing fields of Vietnam at Ba Chuc, where Pol Pot’s regime massacred over 3,000 Vietnamese and Khmer people in 1978. The route loops around to Chau Doc along the border and the total distance of the day is around 110 kilometres with the option to shorten to 65 kilometres.
