Upon arrival in Athens, you will be met by the tour assistant and transferred to your hotel. Detailed information will be presented to you about all art and music events taking place in Athens during your stay, as well as a list of fine restaurants in Athens. Today, you'll visit the impressive Acropolis, first constructed in the 5th Century BC, followed by the Acropolis museum, which houses ancient artefacts from the city of Athens. You'll then continue on to the Roman Agora, the vivid life of Monastiraki Square, and Athens Central Market where you'll find many shops selling herbs and local delicacies. You'll also visit the stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place. In the evening, you'll be taken out to experience Athens nightlife.

Get ready to bite into a sweet, cream-filled, crunchy filo layered pie called bougatsa, fork into perfectly fried doughnut balls drenched in honey called loukoumades and savour a satisfying meld of flavours from warm pita bread filled with seasoned grilled meat, fresh veggies and a traditional sauce called gyros. In between, you’ll taste feta cheese, Greek olives, and sip Greek wines. You'll take a walk through the bustling Athens Central Market, a food market unlike any other in Europe.

Day 4

Athens to Olympia

You'll depart from Athens for the Corinth Canal and after a short stop there, you'll continue on to Epidaurus to visit the Ancient Theatre. You'll then proceed to the seaside town of Nafplio before continuing through the plain of Argos to Mycenae. You'll make a final stop at the Tomb of Agamemnon before continuing on to Olympia. By the afternoon, you'll arrive in Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

Olympia to Delphi

After breakfast, you'll explore the Olympia archaeological site that includes the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. After departing Olympia, you'll make a stop in Patras, Greece's third-largest city. From there on, travel along the coastal road to Delphi where you will overnight in a 4-star hotel. In the afternoon, you'll visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova before arriving in Delphi.

Delphi to Kalambaka

Today, you'll travel from Delphi to Kalambaka. Shortly after departing, you'll visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. As you continue on your journey to Delphi, you'll make a stop in Lamia, a bustling city which is often not visited but tourists. You'll stay overnight in Kalabaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowned by the Meteora Monasteries.

Meteora Monasteries and Back to Athens

You'll leave the hotel in Kalabaka in the morning for the nearby Meteora to visit the Byzantine Monasteries, that sit majestically at the top of the stunning rock formations. You'll then make the journey back to Athens which will take around four hours passing the heroic monument of Leonidas of Sparta at Thermopylae. Once you reach Athens, your ancient Greece tour will come to an end.
