Today is a free day to explore the city of Sorrento and the surrounding countryside. The day is completely free to spend as you wish, you may want to hike up the glorious Mount Vesuvius, visit Piazza Tasso which is one of the most popular areas of Sorrento or splash some cash at Via San Renato, the colourful weekly street market. Alternatively, you may just want to relax on the beach, of which there are many to choose from.

Today, you'll travel from Sorrento to Rome with a stop to explore the ancient city of Pompeii which lay undiscovered for 1,500 years en route. Buried after an eruption by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, this tour of the Pompeii archaeological site takes you through the ruins located on Via Villa dei Misteri.
